Webinar: Is the Eastern Partnership Still Relevant?Strategic Paths for EU–EaP Relations

GEO-POWER-EU, in cooperation with the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum (EaP CSF), is hosting an online webinar on 19th February, at 12:00-13:00 CET, titled “Is the Eastern Partnership Still Relevant? Strategic Paths for EU–EaP Relations.”

The webinar will examine the current relevance and future direction of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) in light of profound geopolitical changes following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Building on GEO-POWER-EU’s research, The Relevance of the Eastern Partnershipthe event will explore whether, and how, the EaP can be recalibrated to respond to today’s security, political, and strategic dimensions.

Against the backdrop of war, intensified geopolitical competition, and the EU’s evolving strategic posture, the discussion will focus on how the EU and its partner countries can rethink and recalibrate the EaP framework.

Key discussion questions:

  • Can the Eastern Partnership adapt to today’s geopolitical and security environment?
  • What do different partner countries expect from the EaP at this stage?
  • How should the EU reshape its approach to remain an effective geopolitical actor in its Eastern Neighbourhood?

The webinar will feature short opening interventions by invited speakers, followed by a moderated discussion and an open Q&A with participants.
