The University of Belgrade – Faculty of Political Science (FPN) started its work in 1968, as the first teaching and scientific institution of that kind in Yugoslavia. Today it consists of four departments – for Political Science, International Politics, Journalism and Communication Studies, Social Policy and Social Work. Studies are organized fully in line with the Bologna Declaration standards. The Faculty organizes undergraduate and graduate – specialized, MA and PhD studies, development and applied research through numerous research centres, specialized innovative courses, trainings and workshops.
International cooperation, on a very diverse basis, is a high priority.

Tijana Rečević
Tijana Rečević is a Ph.D. candidate in International and European Studies, and a Teaching Assitant at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Political Science. After obtaining BA and MA degrees in International Relations at the University of Belgrade, Tijana obtained MA in Conflict Studies from London School of Economics and Political Science, where she was awarded the Best Dissertation Award in the academic 2016/2017. Her doctoral research investigates the role of public opinion in foreign and security policy. Her main academic interests are foreign policy analysis, critical security studies, institutional design and intergroup relations in divided and post-conflict societies, post-conflict memories and the EU conflict management capacity. She has served as Managing Editor of Journal of Regional Security since 2019.
Nemanja Džuverović
Nemanja Džuverović is professor in Peace Studies at the University of Belgrade. He is also visiting professor at Northwestern University His research areas include critical peacebuilding, political economy of liberal peacebuilding, international statebuilding in the Balkans, and sociology of International Relations. He has been visiting researcher at the University of Manchester (Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute), the University of Uppsala (Department of Peace and Conflict Research), the University of Bradford (Department of Peace Studies and International Development) and the University of Granada (Institute for Peace and Conflicts). He is co-editor of the Journal of Regional Security and program co-director of the MA Peace, Security and Development.
Milan Varda
Milan Varda is a Junior Researcher and PhD Student at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Political Science. He is very passionate about using serious games for choosing an optimal strategy, forecasting, and as a tool for teaching. His search is centred around critical approaches to global governance, peace, and security. More specifically, he is interested in how identity impacts the strategic decisions of great powers. In his PhD he is exploring the timing of the Russian invasion of Ukraine by building upon the ontological security theory. Previously, he has worked for the UNDP, the IOM, the Global Policy Journal, as a lecturer at the Humboldt University in Berlin, and for various NGOs.
Marko Kovačević
Marko Kovačević is an Assistant Professor at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Political Science and co-editor of Journal of Regional Security. His core research and teaching interests are in IR theory, constructivism, critical security studies, European security, small states’ studies, and academic writing. Marko’s recent research has focused on regional cooperation and governance in the Western Balkans, and small states’ diplomacy within the UN. Some of his work was published in Journal of International Relations and Development and Journal of Contemporary European Studies.
Gordana Ristić
Gordana Ristić, BA Philology, is the project administrator for the FPN team. She has been working as the Foreign Cooperation Administrator with the Faculty of Political Science for 20 years. She is in charge of organization, monitoring, follow-up and reporting of foreign cooperation activities; project administration in institutional cooperation projects and translation. She has an extensive experience in project administration and management in EU-funded projects – among else, several Tempus and Erasmus projects, Jean Monnet Network, FP7 and Horizon2020.
Filip Ejdus
Filip Ejdus is professor of security studies at the Faculty of Political Science, at the University of Belgrade. In his academic research, he studies how identity, memory and emotions affect the dynamics of domestic and international security. His particular areas of interests are Western Balkans, EU and the Middle East. He is currently the President of Central and Eastern European International Studies Association (CEEISA), board member of the Belgrade Centre for Security Policy (BCSP), co-editor in chief of Journal of Regional Security and the co-chair of the Regional Stability in South East Europe Study Group at the PfP Consortium of Defence Academies and Security Studies Institutes (PfPC).
Djordje Krivokapić Ph.D. LL.M.
Djordje Krivokapić Ph.D. LL.M. is an Associate Professor of ICT Law at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences at the University of Belgrade. He is a co-founder of the SHARE Foundation, digital rights organization.. Prof. Krivokapić is teaching courses in the area of information and communication technology law, business law and ethics, and business systems organization.
