Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University (ONU) is the biggest and most known classical University in the South of Ukraine. The Faculty of International Relations, Political Science and Sociology has emerged over the past 25 years as a regional hub for research and teaching on the European studies, area studies, transition processes, and area languages. The International Relations Department has a strong tradition of studying the Black Sea-Mediterranean region, Arabic, Chinese, Greek, Turkish, and Japanese languages. The Faculty is a home to English-language master programme in International Relations, Social Communications and Regional Studies

Iryna Maksymenko

Iryna Maksymenko. Scopus ID: 57214922705. She is an Associate Professor at the Department of International Relations, Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University (since 2018). She is a Senior Research Fellow of the Centre for International Studies, ONU (since 2001), being involved in realization of numerous projects on European and Security Studies. Her research and teaching interests are Ukraine’s foreign policy, its role in the system of international security, the EU foreign and security policy, the European strategy towards the Black Sea region as well as conflict studies.

 

Yuliia Maistrenko

Yuliia Maistrenko. Work at the Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University since 2011. Courses: Political doctrines of the XX – XXI centuries; Migration process in Mediterranean; Foreign policy of Mediterranean states. PhD Thesis (Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, 2016) “Western Balkans region: external factors and features of political transformations”. Her research and teaching interests are in the fields of the foreign policy and postcommunist transformation of Caucasus countries.

Denys Kuzmin

Denys Kuzmin is a Senior Research Fellow at Odesa Centre for Non-proliferation (since 2015) and Assistant Prof. at the Department of International Relations (since 1999) of Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University. He is a specialist in European security and integration, foreign policy and nuclear history of Ukraine, disarmament, theory and history of International Relations, EU and NATO enlargement. He used to be a visiting fellow or research/educational project participant at Princeton University (2019), McKenna College (2019, 2022), Middlebury Institute for International Studies (2022), etc.  

Sergii Glebov

Sergii Glebov. Scopus ID: 36713423700. MA in history (1996), MA in law (1998). Ph.D. in Political Science and International Relations (2002). He is an Associate Professor at the Department of International Relations, Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University (since 2003), and at the Centre for Peace Studies, UiT The Arctic University of Norway (since 2022). Courses: Theory of International Relations; History of International Relations; History of Diplomacy; Constitutional Law of Ukraine; Foreign Policy of Russia. His research and teaching interests are in the fields of the foreign and security policy of Ukraine, international relations in the Black Sea-Caspian region, the foreign policy of Russia, and international law.

Olga Brusylovska. Scopus ID: 57195100889. Work at the Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University since 1991.
