Organization Summary

VE Insight is an investment risk advisory based in Vienna and specialised in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe (CESEE). It provides a range of services including political risk analysis, corporate investigations, market mapping and bespoke research. Its methodology combines open sources with privileged access to human sources in the region. Its clients include public organisations, governments, banks, corporates and law firms. Its team have backgrounds in the military, the diplomatic service, civil service and commercial consultancy, and have worked as investigators, risk and intelligence analysts, project managers and journalists.

Marcus How

Marcus How is the Head of Analysis, focusing on political risk analysis and foresight. He also periodically publishes articles concerning Central and Eastern European affairs. Prior to joining VE Insight, Marcus worked as an analyst at IHS Markit (previously Exclusive Analysis), where he was engaged with OSINT and SOCMINT. He has a particular interest in how to measure the impact that informal cliques can have on the risk environment in a country, a variable that is often neglected by the PRA sector. Marcus has a BA in Philosophy and an MA in International Political Economy. 

Anthony Monckton

Anthony Monckton began his career as an army officer and went on to become a diplomat, where he specialised in national security. Since leaving the public sector, Anthony has enjoyed a career as a risk and government affairs advisor.He has considerable expertise in geopolitics, counter-terrorism and the analysis of organised crime. He is skilled at managing complex cross-jurisdictional research and enjoys solving problems across borders where differing cultures, legal systems and business practices often converge to create conundrums. He has a particular passion for the Western Balkans.
